XPEL’s Ultimate Paint Protection Film (clear bra) combines best-in-class durability and clarity not previously available in the paint protection film industry. With its very low surface energy, XPEL ULTIMATE sheds contaminants that would otherwise stain or yellow conventional films. In addition, the clear coat employs special elastomeric polymers that “heal” over time eliminating swirl marks and other fine scratches.
This product carries an industry leading 10 year manufacturer’s warranty against yellowing, cracking, peeling, staining, and hazing; and reimburses both film and labor in the unlikely event of a failure. Here at Exclusive Detail, we also warranty our labor in the event of installation errors.
How does XPEL Ultimate Paint Protection Film heal itself?
Because the elastomeric polymers in XPEL Ultimate’s clear coat flow even after the film is cured, the clear coat is allowed to find its natural level again after the surface has been disturbed. An elastomeric polymer is any rubbery material composed of long chainlike molecules, such as rubber itself. When the material is stretched by an indentation such as a scratch or minor dent, it returns to its original shape like a rubber band being released.
How deep of a scratch will it heal?
The clear coat is designed to heal surface scratches and common swirl marks that occur during routine washing of the car. Any scratch that does not fully penetrate the film’s clear coat will be healed.
How long does it take for a scratch to heal?
Healing time for a scratch depends on the severity of the scratch and the ambient temperature. Minor scratches usually heal in one hour at room temperature (72°F). The higher the temperature, the faster the scratch will heal. The healing process can be accelerated at any time by pouring hot water over the scratched film area.
How many times will the clear coat heal itself?
With this technology, the clear coat can heal itself virtually limitlessly. As long as the clear coat is not penetrated it will continue to self-heal over and over again.
How long will the clear coat last?
Depending on how the film is cared for, the clear coat can last indefinitely. Regular washing and waxing will keep the clear coat in top condition for years to come. The film should be cared for in the same manner as the paint.
Can I wax the film when I wax the rest of the car?
Unlike other paint protection films on the market, XPEL Ultimate can be waxed and sealed just like your paint. Any automotive wax or sealant may be used, but XPEL Flawless Finish Paint Protection Film Sealant is a preferred product. For a more permanent alternative to waxes, a Ceramic Coating (such as Opti-Coat Pro) will provide a maximum protection over multiple years.
